Morocco Summons Iranian Chargé D'Affaires over Defaming Article
Rabat - Morocco's Foreign Ministry summoned, here Friday, Iranian Chargé d'Affaires in Rabat after the Revolutionary Guards' outlet of Fars News published a defaming article against Morocco.

Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mbarka Bouaida summoned Iranian Chargé d'Affaires in Rabat, in the absence of the Iranian ambassador who is currently abroad, to express Morocco's "vehement protest against the dangerous and unacceptable content of this article, which denotes a deliberate intention to undermine the image of our country", the Foreign ministry said in a statement.

The Minister expressed Morocco's "discontent vis-à-vis this irresponsible act that undermines the efforts of both countries to restore confidence". "While Morocco remains committed to establishing relations with Iran on a solid foundation based on trust and mutual respect, it rejects any provocation or act that undermines its image and reputation", she said.

"Bouaida also asked the Iranian authorities to provide the necessary explanations and take the appropriate measures against this act that undermines the relations between the two countries", the statement concluded.
