Morocco, Spain examine cooperation in tourism industry

Madrid - Moroccan tourism minister Lahcen Haddad met, on Tuesday in Madrid, with Spanish minister of industry, energy and tourism José Manuel Soria on means to foster cooperation in the tourism industry.

Haddad is leading an important delegation of Moroccan tourist operators to take part in the 35th International Tourism Fair "Fitur 2015" which will be opened on Wednesday by King Felipe VI of Spain.

During the meeting, attended by Morocco's ambassador to Spain Mohammed Fadel Benyaich, the two parties lauded the excellent relations between Morocco and Spain in all areas, underlining the importance of the tourism sector in the two countries' economic development.

The two ministers stressed on this occasion the need to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries through the establishment of bilateral partnerships in the tourism industry with the aim to develop common tourism strategies. The two officials underscored the importance of exploring new tourism markets, including Chinese and Brazilian ones, through the sharing of experiences among tourism operators in both countries.
