Morocco Receives UNCTAD's Investment Promotion Award

Geneva - Morocco won the 2015 UNCTAD's Investment Promotion Award in recognition for its renewable energy development policies.

This distinction was presented to deputy director of the Moroccan Agency for Investment promotion (AMDI) Ali El Yaacoubi during a ceremony in Geneva.

Morocco aims to bring the share of renewable energies in total energy production to 42% by 2020 through investing in wind and solar plants.

Developing renewable energy will help Morocco lower its energy bill and reduce emissions by about 9 tons annually.
