Morocco, Portugal Set to Boost Cooperation in Diplomat Training

Rabat - Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva said, here Friday, that Portugal and Morocco agreed to boost their cooperation in the field of training diplomats.
The friendly relations between Morocco and Portugal date back to the 18th century, Portugal's top diplomat, who is on a working visit to Morocco, said at a joint press briefing with his Moroccan peer Salah Ediine Mezouar, adding that these bilateral relations are "future-oriented". 

Mr. Santos Silva noted that he held talks with Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy Minister Moulay Hafid El Alamy, adding that during this meeting the two sides decided to "set up the Investment Observatory", a joint committee that will spur bilateral investments.

The Portuguese minister also hailed Morocco's efforts in the international fight against terrorism, pointing out that Morocco and Portugal are partners in the international coalition against terrorism.

He also praised Morocco's efforts to promote stability in North Africa and the Middle East, notably the organization of the upcoming Summit of the Arab League, in which Portugal is an observer member.
