Morocco, Pioneering Country in Renewable Energies- Belgian Party Leader
Brussels - Morocco is a pioneer country in the region in developing renewable energies, the co-president of the Belgian Ecolo party Patrick Dupriez noted.

"In the field of renewable energies, Morocco today is a pioneering country that undertakes proactively in the energy transition by investing heavily in clean and lasting energy sources", said Dupriez in a statement to MAP following a meeting with the chairman of the Environment and Development Party, Ahmed Alami in Brussels.
With the goal of rising the share of renewables in electricity production by more than 40 percent by 2020, Morocco reaffirms commitment to energy transition, he noted.
"I am pleased to see that a country in the EU's southern neighborhood is showing the example," he added
Alami and Dupriez meeting focused on environmental issues in Morocco, and the issue of the exploitation of shale gas and nuclear energy along with other regional issues of common concern.
