Morocco, Montenegro Agree to Boost Economic Relations

Podgorica  - Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El Malki and Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro Ivan Brajovic underlined the need to boost bilateral relations notably in the economic field to match the excellent political relations between the two countries.

The need to strengthen relations between the two countries was stressed during talks between the two parties in Podgorica on the occasion of Habib El Malki's official visit, on Monday in Montenegro, which took place in the presence of Ambassador of Morocco to Serbia and Montenegro Mohamed Amine Belhaj.

El Malki underscored on this occasion that Morocco and Montenegro share many values and are driven by the same will to see peace reign in their regions and in the world, adding that Morocco is an essential pillar of stability in Africa and that Montenegro plays a fundamental role in the stability of the Balkan region, two key roles that could contribute to ensuring peace in the Mediterranean region. The Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro said that Morocco and Montenegro share viewpoints on a number of regional and international issues, underlining the importance of the draft cooperation agreement signed by the parliaments of the two countries for the development of their relations. He also highlighted Morocco's role in African cooperation and the fight against terrorism, as well as the reinforcement of peace and stability in the region.
