Morocco: Medical Insurance Officially Launched for Students

"The new medical insurance scheme, which is part of the 2012-2016 Health ministry's strategy and required a total budget of MAD 110 million, will offer social protection to over 288,000 students enrolled in higher education during the 2015-2016 academic year", Health Minister Houssaine Louardi said.
This represents a significant step toward achieving the constitutional right of access to health care, he added.
Beneficiaries of the new scheme are Moroccan and foreign students in both public and private institutions, the Health Minister noted.
He pointed out that students in private schools will be required to pay MAD 400 as an annual fee during the registration period at the university.
