Morocco, Liberia Set to Promote Partnership in Private Sector
Speaking at the end of a bilateral meeting, Saah Kemayah welcomed the "strong" partnership between Morocco and Liberia, as evidenced by trade and deep ties between the two countries, adding that this partnership should also expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of agriculture, mining, energy, tourism, education and professional training.
After recalling that Liberia has potential in several sectors, such as agriculture, mining and tourism, he said that the private sectors of both countries can build strong and fruitful economic relations and create synergies to stimulate investment with the aim of achieving a "sustainable socio-economic growth".
For his part, Alj said he was proud of the positive development of relations between the two countries in recent years, evidenced by the joint Commission of cooperation held in 2019, the opening of the Liberian consulate in Dakhla in 2020 and the signing of several agreements in the fields of higher education, scientific research, agriculture and health.
Welcoming Liberian President George Weah's "pro-poor agenda" aimed at filling infrastructure gaps and promoting access to basic public services, the CGEM president stressed the imperative of establishing more synergies between the two countries' very small, small and medium-sized enterprises (VSEs) by encouraging more investment and co-investment.
