Morocco, Gabon reiterates attachment to inalienable rights of Palestinians to viable state, Joint Statement

Libreville - Morocco and Gabon have reiterated their commitment to the "inalienable" rights of the Palestinian people to a viable and sovereign state, in the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Asharif as its capital.

"The two sides expressed their commitment to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to a viable and sovereign state in the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Asharif as its capital, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations," said a joint statement on Friday at the end of the working and brotherhood visit by HM King Mohammed VI in the Gabonese Republic.

HM King Mohammed VI and HE Ali Bongo Ondimba considered that the resumption of negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis since July 2013, represents a decisive step towards peace in the Middle East, the statement added.

The Sovereign presented, on this occasion, to President Ali Bongo the results and recommendations of the last meeting of the Al-Quds Committee, held last January in Marrakech under the chairmanship of His Majesty the King.
