Morocco Elected President of Cooperation Platform For Economic Development in the Mediterranean

Samedi 30 Juin 2018

Tunis - Morocco was elected president of the Cooperation Platform for Economic Development in the Mediterranean (ANIMA) for a 3-year term (2019-2021).

This came during ANIMA general assembly held on the sidelines of the Platform's annual conference, which took place on 26-28 June in Tunis.

Morocco succeeds Tunisia, which chaired ANIMA for the last six years.

The Moroccan presidency will suggest a development strategy for the Euro-Mediterranean territories and will give particular importance to Africa, mainly through partnerships with many territories and countries of the continent.

Created in Marseille (France) in 2006 by a consortium of Euro-Mediterranean Agencies, including Moroccan ones, ANIMA is a multi-country cooperation platform that gathers different national and regional investment institutions.

Its mission is to promote economies of Mediterranean countries, as well as to consolidate cooperation between the Mediterranean and European economic actors through offering its partners economic intelligence tools, developing projects aimed at improving the region’s attractiveness, and strengthening cooperation and economic exchange between the region’s countries.
