Morocco-EU parliamentary friendship group voices solidarity with Morocco's stance on Sahara

Rabat - The Morocco-EU parliamentary friendship group voiced solidarity with the Moroccan stance over the Sahara, said, Monday in Rabat, its chairman Gilles Pargneaux who is on a visit to Morocco along with a delegation from the group.

"We are in favor of the autonomy plan in the Sahara, with an autonomous parliament and government," Pargneaux told the press after a meeting with minister delegate for foreign affairs Mbarka Bouaida.

Pargneaux, who underlined the importance of the Morocco-EU partnership, added that the meeting was an occasion to discuss several matters related to policies regarding energy, food processing, and technology to achieve a win-win partnership.

He noted that security in the Arab World and the EU was also on the meeting's agenda, saying that the two parties should pool their efforts to face terrorism and political fundamentalism.
