Brussels - The Morocco-EU joint parliamentary commission, which met Wednesday at the European Parliament here, called for a well-designed mobility policy.

The joint commission stressed in its recommendations that mobility is an extremely strategic element in relations between the EU and Morocco, proposing the implementation of provisions of the Partnership for mobility signed between the two sides last June. The Partnership for mobility provides for facilitating visa procedures for Moroccan citizens.

The commission also urged for endeavoring to achieve Maghreb integration, given the potential it offers for employment, and promotion of development conditions in the region. The commission members welcomed in this context the setting up of the Maghreban bank for investments and foreign trade.

MPS member of this commission looked into the advanced regionalization in Morocco and called for speeding up the process which is likely to promote the decentralization of power and financial resources as well as Morocco's development.

Of economic relations between Morocco and the EU, the commission welcomed the start of negotiations for a complete and deep free-trade agreement and the initialing of the new fisheries protocol.
