Morocco, Chile Discuss Means to Strengthen Cultural and Sports Cooperation

Rabat - Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, government spokesman, El Hassan Abyaba, held talks, Wednesday in Rabat, with chairman of the Chilean-Moroccan parliamentary friendship group at the Chilean Chamber of Deputies Gonzalo Fuenzalida, on ways to promote relations between the two countries in various fields, especially culture and sports.

In a statement to the press, Abyaba said that the meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the cultural and sports fields, praising the solidity of Moroccan-Chilean relations in these areas.

He also expressed the readiness of the ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (Department of Culture) to strengthen and develop cultural, sports and media cooperation between the two friendly countries, particularly through the organization of activities in areas of common interest, including those relating to the promotion of heritage, art and various creations, in addition to the development of areas of cooperation between the Moroccan and Chilean institutions concerned.

For his part, Fuenzalida highlighted the strong relations between the two countries, expressing the willingness of the Republic of Chile to strengthen this cooperation, particularly with regard to the preservation of heritage and the strengthening of the presence of young people, women and children in the area of sport.

The chairman of the Chilean delegation also called for more joint programs in all areas, affirming that both parties will exchange cultural visits, within the framework of activities organized either in Morocco or Chile, with the aim of sharing expertise and experiences, and setting up joint projects and programs in the areas concerned.

Morocco will be the guest of honor at the 39th edition of the International Book Fair, scheduled for December 4-8 in the Chilean capital, Santiago.
