Cairo - Morocco called, Wednesday in Cairo, for the establishment of a joint Arab platform for cooperation in the area of scientific research with a view to addressing the digital challenges facing the higher education system. Speaking at a high-level meeting held as part of the 17th conference of Arab ministers of higher education and scientific research, Minister delegate for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Driss Ouaouicha, said that this platform, which would bring together member countries of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), will contribute to "advancing scientific research and addressing the major challenges posed by the digital transformation within the higher education system in the Arab world."

The challenges of digitization "requires us to mobilize the various Arab components concerned with higher education and scientific research to cooperate within the framework of ALESCO," he pointed out.

The strengthening of cooperation between Arab countries in the fields of scientific, academic and academic research "will enable us to address these major challenges that no country alone can face," the minister said. He also highlighted the importance of this Arab meeting, which discusses artificial intelligence.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Moroccan minister held talks Tuesday in Cairo with several Arab ministers of higher education, which focused on the means to step up bilateral cooperation in the areas of higher education and scientific research and establish partnerships between universities. The 17th conference of Arab ministers of higher education and scientific research is held on the theme "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Education: Challenges and Expectations".

The meeting is aimed at discussing Arab experiences in the field of higher education and scientific research, as well as the challenges facing higher education in the Arab world.
