Morocco & Antigua and Barbuda Eager to Give New Impetus to Bilateral Cooperation
Rabat - Morocco and Antigua and Barbuda underscored, on Friday in Rabat, their common will to give new impetus to their bilateral relations through the signing of an agreement in the form of a "Roadmap of cooperation 2020-2022", which covers various priority areas for the two countries.

In a joint communiqué issued at the end of their talks, minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Trade of Antigua and Barbuda, E. Paul Chet Greene, expressed their satisfaction with the excellent bilateral friendly relations, reinforced dialogue and high-level visits between the two countries since the Government of Antigua and Barbuda withdrew its recognition of the so-called "rasd" in 2010, and stressed the importance of improving bilateral, technical and economic cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
In this respect, the two parties considered that the signing of the Roadmap of cooperation 2020-2022 will further enhance the already excellent existing bilateral relations and constitute a continuity of the ongoing cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, culture, agriculture, health, water and electricity, education and human resources development.
On this occasion, Bourita reiterated Morocco's commitment, in conformity with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who attaches great importance to South-South cooperation, to accompany and assist the Government of Antigua and Barbuda in its development projects to meet the aspirations and welfare of its population.
For his part, Chet Greene expressed the gratitude of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for the noble decision of His Majesty the King to facilitate the opening of an Embassy of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) in Morocco, stressing that this diplomatic representation, which offers a good opportunity for OECS member States to open up to the African market, will further consolidate relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the entire Caribbean region.
During the meeting, the two ministers exchanged views on various international issues and agreed to coordinate their action to promote regional cooperation between African and Caribbean countries.
They also agreed to maintain and reinforce a permanent and constructive dialogue between the Kingdom of Morocco and the organizations of OECS and CARICOM.
Chet Greene paid Friday a working visit to Morocco in response to the invitation extended to him by Bourita, during their meeting on 27 September 2019, on the occasion of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
