Moroccan police arrests three people allegedly involved in jihadist plans in Syria

Rabat - Three individuals involved in jihadist plans in Syria were arrested in Casablanca and Fnideq by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), said Wednesday a statement of the Ministry of the Interior. These arrests, the source added, is part of the efforts by the security services to address the terrorist threats. The same source states that the police arrested two individuals who were about to join terrorist organizations affiliated with Al Qaeda in Syria at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. The third person, arrested in Fnideq, was in charge of providing financial support to the "jihadist" plan of his two friends in Syria, the ministry said. Investigations revealed that those arrested at the Mohammed V Airport maintained contacts with one of the coordinators who operated at the Turkish-Syrian border and who would facilitate their infiltration into the Syrian territory.
