Moroccan barrister Abdellatif Bouachrine elected SG of ALU

Cairo - Moroccan barrister Abdellatif Bouachrine was elected, on Friday in Cairo, as Secretary General of the Arab Lawyers Union (ALU), during a meeting of the ALU Executive Board.

Bouachrine was elected to this position by 30 votes against 16 for Kuwaiti candidate Doukhi Al-Hasbani.

The 23rd session of the Union's General Congress started on Friday under the theme "Towards a unified Arab front to face terrorism, followership and division."
