Moroccan, Spanish MPs Call for Promoting Cooperation Ties According to 'Resolute Strategic Approach'
"We call for continuing the efforts aimed at further consolidating and diversifying cooperation in the political, diplomatic, economic, social, security, cultural and educational fields between the two countries, according to a resolute strategic approach, which accepts no extraordinary circumstances or tactical calculations", said the final communiqué of the 3rd Morocco-Spain Parliamentary Forum, held Wednesday in Rabat.

Both sides highlighted Moroccan and Spanish resolve to continue and step up their efforts in the current situation, which requires high vigilance, coordination and cooperation in the security situation, notably in the light of the dangerous and disturbing events in the region of the Mediterranean and the Sahel-Saharan countries, such as terrorism, extremism, organized crime and trafficking in human beings, arms and drugs.

In this context, the two parliamentary institutions strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and reaffirmed their will to adhere to all initiatives aimed at fighting terrorism and extremism in all their forms.

Moroccan and Spanish parliamentarians also praised the "distinguished brotherly relations" between HM King Mohammed VI and HM King Felipe VI of Spain, sources of good neighborliness and guarantors of successful cooperation, continuous understanding and dialogue when it comes to safeguarding the interests of the two countries.

They also praised the positive development of the democratic and reform process aimed at promoting modernity, democratization and openness in Morocco.

The parliamentarians expressed their satisfaction with the continued development of trade and economic ties between Morocco and Spain and the revitalization and diversification of their activities.

They also lauded the quality of cultural and educational cooperation between Rabat and Madrid, based on civilizational practices and creative balances.
