Moroccan Selected as Semi-Finalist in GIST Tech-I Competition
Washington - A young Moroccan has been selected as semi-finalist in the Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST Tech-I) Competition, a Department of State initiative that brings together Science &Technology, innovation and entrepreneurship to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit and empower individual innovators around the world.

Jihane Laraichi was selected among 76 semi-finalists, representing 37 countries from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe, GIST Initiative (global initiative through science and technology) said Tuesday in a statement.
The young Moroccan was selected by an expert audience of GIST thanks to an innovative project that provides for creating a website for university students from the African continent to get customized advices on career orientation.
The 76 semi-finalists were selected from almost 800 young Science &Technology innovators and entrepreneurs from around the world who entered this year's GIST Tech-I competition.
Thirty finalists will be chosen by a worldwide vote to attend and pitch their projects at the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Kenya.
Voting takes place from May 11 to June 11, 2015. The public can vote for their favorite projects online at www.gistnetwork.org/tech-i/vote. Individuals can vote once a day, every day during the month-long voting period.
