Moroccan Minister of Education calls for "more" rapprochement
Moroccan Minister of Education Mohamed El-Ouafa called Monday in Algiers for "more" rapprochement between Algeria and Morocco to make the Arab Maghreb region a "stable" region in political, economic and social development plans.

The Moroccan minister said, following the talks he had with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci, that his meeting offered him the opportunity to exchange views on the "new" relations between Algeria and the Kingdom of Morocco and the means of their development, for "more" rapprochement to make the Arab Maghreb region a "stable" region in the political, economic and social development plans." "There is hope that the peoples of Algeria and Morocco resume their historical relationships to build the future of the Arab Maghreb region," said El-Ouafa.
With regard to his visit to Algeria, the Moroccan minister recalled that it came in line with talks with his Algerian counterpart for the development of bilateral relations in education and training, besides the exchange of experiences.
Moroccan Minister of Education, Mohamed El-Ouafa, arrived Sunday afternoon in Algiers for a three-day visit at the invitation of Algerian Minister of Education Boubekeur Benbouzid,APS concludes.
Following a meeting with Benbouzid and Minister of Vocational Training El Hadi Khaldi, El Ouafa said that discussions focused on educational systems in the two countries as well as means and ways to further consolidate bilateral ties in the area, MAP reports
He emphasized the need to join efforts in the said field and organize meetings between Moroccan and Algerian teachers, trainers and students, considering that the historic, religious and cultural bonds between the two peoples can be further strengthened by joint actions.
Benbouzid said he examined with El Ouafa the potentials which both countries boast and means to make effective use of them, in the best interest of the two brotherly peoples.
The Algerian official said he was convinced that the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, which will be signed on the occasion of this visit, “will give impetus to relations between Rabat and Algiers in the field of education “, notably in relation with the exchange of experiences and programs, MAP concludes.
