Moroccan Initiative at the UN to promote innovation among Arab youth
Geneva - Morocco launched Wednesday in Geneva, an initiative to promote innovation among young people in the Arab world in the field of information technology and knowledge by offering to host a regional forum in 2014.

This initiative for talented Arab youth aims to encourage the exchange of expertise in the region and common action in the fields of innovation and invention, said Ms. Zakia Midaoui, Director of the Department of Multilateral Cooperation and International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
Midaoui, who was speaking at the high-level debate of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) annual meeting in Geneva, said the initiative also aims to develop a common support plan for young Arab talents in a spirit of partnership with relevant bodies and donor countries in the region.
The forum will take place in May or June 2014 in cooperation with an Arab organization and a UN agency as well as partners operating in the fields of technology and innovation in Morocco, she said.
