Moroccan-Algerian closed borders: economic, human and geographical aberration
The 20 year-old closing of the Moroccan-Algerian borders is seen by the two countries' young generation as an aberration, the French magazine said, noting that "it is not the only closed borders in the world but, with a 1,601 km length, is the longest and with most significant economic and human repercussions.

"The Maghreb remains one of the least integrated regions worldwide and new generations of the two brotherly peoples do no longer know each other ", writes the author of this article, recalling that the closure of the borders, which dates back to August 1994, was a unilateral Algerian decision.

For twenty years, the situation has not changed, the French magazine went on to say, adding that while Morocco regularly calls for the reopening of the borders for the sake of the Maghreb unity, Algeria responds with unacceptable preconditions for Rabat.
