Mohammed V Airport Passes 10 Million Passenger Mark in One Year

Casablanca - Mohammed V Airport of Casablanca broke on Thursday a record of annual attendance by crossing the 10 million passenger mark for the first time in its history. On this occasion, a ceremony was organized at the initiative of the National Airports Office (ONDA) and Royal Air Maroc (RAM) to welcome the 10 millionth passenger who was boarding RAM flight AT 205, from Miami, a new RAM destination that was launched last April. The national company offered the 10 millionth passenger a business class plane ticket on its international network and other gifts from the National Airports Office.

The first airport platform in the Kingdom, the Mohammed V Airport of Casablanca hosts more than 40% of the air traffic volume conducted by all Moroccan airports. Air traffic at the said airport witnessed sustained growth between 2009 and 2018 with an average annual evolution of around 5% for passenger traffic and 2.5% for aircraft movements. The number of passengers transiting through the airport increased from 6.3 million passengers in 2009 to 9.7 million in 2018, while aircraft movements increased from 69,119 in 2009 to 86,565 movements in 2018.
