Mercredi 13 Mai 2020

Rabat - The Ministry of Energy, Mining and the Environment categorically denied on Tuesday the false news reported by a newspaper about the National Coastal Plan (PNL). In a press release, the ministry described rumors spread amid the pandemic as "Fake News", while emphasizing the measures taken to promote sustainable management of the national coastline. It recalled in this regard the adoption of two bills, namely Law 81.12 on the management of the coastline dated October 15, 2015 and Decree 2-15-769 dated January 7, 2016, setting the composition, members, powers and the operating procedures of the national commission for integrated coastal management, as well as the procedures for developing the national plan and regional coastal plans.

In accordance with the provisions of the two bills, the National Coastal Plan was elaborated by the Ministry from 2017 as part of a long series of consultations involving all the parties concerned with the aim of reaching a unified vision. The PNL was approved on February 14, 2020 by the National Monitoring Committee for Integrated Coastal Management, composed of 54 members representing various government departments, regional councils of coastal zones, public institutions, scientific research institutes and associations of civil society, in full respect of the laws in force, said the ministry, noting that it has started the procedure of its approval by decree in accordance with the provisions of the said law.
