Military justice reform: Portugal welcomes 'important step' towards consolidation of human rights, freedoms in Morocco

''The Portuguese government welcomes the decision taken on March 14 by the Council of Ministers to submit to Parliament a bill providing for the exclusion of civilians from the jurisdiction of the military court,'' said the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

''Once approved, this law will standardize the legal and military procedures with international principles of human rights,'' said the ministry.

The bill on military justice has been prepared in accordance with the royal orientations and aims to standardize national legislation on military justice with the provisions of the Constitution and the international principles in this area
