The paper noted that Morocco possesses the lion's share of the mergers and acquisitions in the MENA region since early 2013, with 39% of the global volume of activities, that is 11.8 billion dollars worth of transactions.

Recalling the latest figures issued by the "Dealogic", a company that offers real-time information in the areas of fixed income, equity capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions, the paper said that the turnover of merger and acquisition transactions by Morocco this year increased tenfold compared to 2012, giving the example of the sale by Veolia Environment of its activities to Redal and Amendis companies in Morocco for an amount of 484 million dollars.

Regionally, mergers and acquisitions increased in 2013 with transactions worth 30.7 billion dollars, that is a rise of 33% compared to 2012, according to the same source.
