Rabat - The Malian people wants "reconciliation of hearts and spirits", said Mali's president Ibrahim Aboubacar Kaita, stressing that Malians' great concern is to live in communion, conviviality and peace and find back its past serenity.

In an interview with Morocco's TV channel "2M", the Malian president recalled that his country was established in 1945 as organized and methodic state that had nothing to envy other countries and that had relations with its neighbors and other countries.

"Today, he went, the fight against the extremism danger has been successful but their remain some resistance pockets, mainly in southern Libya", he regretted, stressing that a great step was made with the launching in Bamako on talks to achieve reconciliation in Mali.

He also argued that his country is humanism-oriented, insisting "we wish peace and conviviality to prevail in this country of human and cultural melting pot".

The Malian president further underscored that violent groups will not be associated to dialog as long as they have not laid down arms, noting "we want real and sustained peace ( ) peace that would not be jeopardized by a yes or a no."

He also argued that "the security approach should be supported with an economic, social and, foremost, spiritual approach", recalling in this regard, the training undertaken in Morocco by 500 Malian imams to contribute to spread a moderate and Malekite-style Islam.

The Malian president also commended cooperation existing between Morocco and Mali in the management of religious affairs under the impulse of HM King Mohammed VI who is extending this type of cooperation to other African countries.
