Madrid hopes success of appeal of European court's ruling on agriculture agreement with Morocco
Madrid - Spain's state secretary for foreign affairs, Ignacio Ybanez, expressed his country's wish that the projected appeal against the European court's ruling on the agriculture agreement with Morocco will be successful.
The decision made on Monday by the EU foreign affairs council to appeal the court's ruling "was clear and unanimous", the Spanish official told the press following his participation in the Council's meeting.
The decision to appeal the ruling proves that Brussels is keen on its cooperation with Morocco, as a strategic partner, he went on, recalling that the two sides maintain "strategic bonds in several fields" and are willing to continue promoting their cooperation.
European foreign ministers, who held a meeting prior to the European summit slated for Dec.17-18, agreed, without debate nor discussion, to challenge the ruling handed down by the European Union court of justice.
