MCC delegation inquires about two agricultural projects in Al Haouz

Al Haouz province - A delegation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) enquired, on Wednesday at the Al Haouz province, about the progress of two agriculture projects funded the US development fund.

The delegation, led by Mark Green, president of US Initiative for Global Development and MCC member, visited the project of building and equipping a modern unit for olive grinding and oil extraction and packing at the rural commune of Ghmat at the Al Haouz province.

The facility, to be operational in September, will benefit 5 local agricultural cooperatives. The project is worth some 17.8 million dirhams and will benefit 1660 people.

The unit will produce 80 tons per day. The rural communes concerned by this projects are Ourika, Ghmat, Tahanaout and Tamazozt.

The delegation had visited earlier the Al Haouz irrigation projects totaling 39.87 million dirhams.
