MAP news agency sign cooperation agreements with FAAPA member agencies

Rabat - Morocco's news agency (MAP) signed, on Thursday in Rabat, four partnership agreements with news agencies which are members of the Atlantic Federation of African News agencies (FAAPA) to reinforce information sharing and professional relations.

The agreements were inked by MAP news agency's managing director Khalil Hachimi Idrissi, and by director of Togolese news agency (ATOP) Assiba Akakpo, director general of Congolese news agency (ACP- DRC) Justin Kangundu, president of board of directors of Gabonese news agency (AGP) Jacques Sima and director general of Central African news agency (ACAP) Médard Dagoulou-Ada-Zenguet.

Under these agreements, MAP and the four signatory African news agencies agree to share and use multimedia information (picture, soundtrack, video, graphics and internet).

They also agree to exchanges news and stories free of charge and with no subscription fees. 

By virtue of the agreements, the parties commit, during the sharing of news via the internet or any other technical means, not to alter the basic content and to mention the source. 

They also commit to facilitate and assist special envoys and correspondents in their respective countries.

These agreements were signed on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Federation executive council, held at MAP headquarters.
