Unencumbered with the normal electoral plethora of opinion polls and ideological debate it is impossible to predict the outcome. It is possible that islamist parties may win a substantial number of votes but  the exact result. will only be known on Sunday at the earliest.

The main thing is that the vote is going ahead and this in itself is an achievement given  recent militia based disorder. Results will not be announced until Sunday at the earliest.
