La Mamounia, Top World Hotel
Marrakech - Morocco's legendary La Mamounia was awarded the coveted title as the top hotel in the world in the Conde Nast Traveller's annual reader poll.
A stone's throw away from the famous Jamaa El Fna Square in Marrakech, La Mamounia was voted by readers as the world's best due to its "design and rooms", according to Conde Nast Traveller.
It is also the first time that an African and Moroccan palace receives the award of the top hotel in the world, La Maoumnia said in a statement.
As part of the award, "Conde Nast Traveler" gives the opportunity to more than 50,000 readers to vote on hundreds of luxurious hotels worldwide based on various criteria, such as service, design and value for money.
