Inter-Libyan Talks: Chief of national accord government to be named on Sept. 20, member of dialogue committee

Skhirat - September 20 is the date set, in principle, to appoint the chief of the Libyan national accord government, said on Friday Taoufik Chehibi, member of the inter-Libyan dialogue committee (Independents).

The two upcoming rounds could be the last in this talks process to reach an agreement on the formation of a national accord government, he told MAP following the first session of the second day of the new round of inter-Libyan negotiations, held in Skhirat (suburbs of Rabat).

The talks are going on even in the absence of the General National Congress, said Chehibi, urging the latter to join the other parties during the next sessions of dialogue.

UNSG special representative for Libya Bernardino Leon called, earlier in the day, for ending as soon as possible this dialogue.
