Inhabitants of Guelmim-Oued Noun Region Laud US Decision on Moroccanness of Sahara (Bouaida)

Guelmim - The inhabitants of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region laud the historic decision of the United States to recognize the full sovereignty of Morocco over the whole of its Sahara, said on Friday President of the Regional Council, Mbarka Bouaida. In a statement to MAP, Bouaida expressed "the great joy of the population of the region" following this initiative announced by US President Donald Trump during a telephone conversation on Thursday with HM King Mohammed VI.

She added that this historic event is considered "a major achievement", noting that it is "the fruit of the work and diligence of the Moroccan diplomacy under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI". The press release of the royal office comes "to give the national cause a new impetus", she said, adding that this announcement is a victory for the just issue of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, and a boost for development in all the southern provinces, and for the promotion for security and stability in the region.
