Inflation drops to 0.4% in 2014 HCP
This decrease in annual inflation rate is ascribed to a rise in electricity and water prices during the last quarter of 2014 which was compensated for by a decrease in foodstuff prices during the first quarters, the HCP explained in its January 2015 report.

By the fourth quarter of 2014, inflation posted a slight increase of 1.1% against 0.2 % the previous quarter.

Underlying inflation, which excludes fresh products and energy, rose by 1.2% in the fourth quarter compared to 1.3% the same period the previous year, the same source recalled.

The Moroccan economy is estimated to have posted a 2.7% growth year-on-year growth following a 3.5% rise in non-agricultural activities.
