"My two-day visit has two objectives: to strengthen the friendship between France and Morocco" and "confirm the link" that unites the two countries, said Hollande, noting that King Mohammed VI was the first chief State officially received at the Elysee Palace after his election in May 2012.

The French President praised the "democratic transition in Morocco committed to accelerating the adoption of the new Constitution," even though  "there is still, as in any democracy, imperfections, improvements,
enhancements,"  he said.

"We are a great country, a country which takes account, we have our problems, we sometimes have our objections, our separation, our difficulties and we make sure to reduce both unnecessary divisions and difficulties are never insurmountable "he said further , without referring to the indictment on Tuesday of his former budget minister Jerome Cahuzac for money laundering and tax fraud.

Noting that virtually all companies in the CAC 4O - 36 out of 40 - and 800 subsidiaries of French companies were present in Morocco, Mr. Hollande noted that France "was involved in major projects in Morocco for TGV, trams, new towns. "

Mr. Hollande, who attended the signing of thirty contracts between the two countries in the afternoon, called on French entrepreneurs to ensure that France once again becomes "the leading provider of Morocco," a position lost to Spain in 2012.

He also called for the implementation of the "new concept of industrial collocation" to "current favourable trade employment in France."
