Heavy Security precautions for the visit of Kerry Kennedy, President of RKF to Polisario Camps .
The visit of Ms. Kerry Kennedy President of the RKF, to the Polisario camps in south west Algeria from August 29, 2012, was marked by extraordinary security measures. This was in the light of alledged terrorist threats to kidnap her. She is touring the region to inquire about the human rights situation as regards the Western Sahara issue.

Polisario officials have so far not organised her visit to Rabouni camp where opponents of Mohamed Abdulaziz the separatist leader were waiting to see her on 29  August in the morning.

The President of  the RFK Foundation’s visit is occurring in  an increased period  of tension in the Polisario camps because of rise of protest groups against the leadership of the Polisario and infiltration by terrorist groups including AQMI and MUJAO. Three Spanish and an Italian aid worker were kidnapped in October 2011. The Spanish and Italian governments subsequently repatriated all their humanitarian aid workers from Tindouf for their own protection in August 2012.  The increased security may also have the effect of hiding ehe level of protests in the camps,.
