Morocco aims to attract one million Spanish tourists in 2015, said Wednesday in Madrid, Minister of Tourism, Lahcen Haddad, confirming the project announced a few days ago by the Moroccan National Office Tourism.
Haddad:
The number of Spanish tourists is increasing dramatically. They were 800,000 in 2012, up 4% compared to 2011 and "Our ambition is to achieve in two years, one million tourists," said Lahcen Haddad during a press conference at the occasion of the opening of the 33rd edition of the International Tourism Fair, FITUR 2013, MAP reported.

Minister assured that Morocco does not neglect the importance of the Spanish tourist market, noting that Spain is the second largest source of tourists to Morocco after France.

So the goal is to increase the number of Spanish visitors to the Kingdom, but also to forge new partnerships with tour operators to introduce Spanish combination products between the two countries in order to attract tourists from emerging markets such as Japan, India, Brazil, China and several Latin American countries, said the Minister of Tourism, who has held several meetings with tour operators in the Spanish goal to promote the destination of Morocco.

As a reminder, Lahcen Haddad takes part in FITUR, one of the largest fairs with international projection, which is an important platform for meetings, allowing both exhibitors and visitors to define new strategies and promote their destinations.
