Govt. Chief Holds Talks with Speaker of Russian Federation Council of Federal Assembly

Rabat - Government Chief Abdelilah Benkirane held, here Thursday, talks with Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, on a working visit to morocco.

This meeting was an opportunity to hail the excellent friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, which have experienced a fresh start with the visit of HM King Mohammed to Russia in 2002, a visit that has been marked by the signing of the declaration on strategic partnership between Morocco and Russia, Government Chief's department said in a statement, recalling the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Morocco in 2006.

Both sides expressed their joint will to promote economic and trade exchanges between the two countries, stressing the need to enhance the visits of Moroccan and Russian experts and businessmen to open new prospects of cooperation.

Benkirane highlighted Morocco's potential to attract large industrial projects that would constitute an industrial cooperation bridge between the two countries, as well as the assets of the Kingdom as an investment platform in African and Arab markets.
