Govpinion aims to serve as a platform on the web to gather the voices of citizens and ensure they are heard. It aims to be an innovative, interactive and original to attract users and present  them with the institutions and personalities holding public offices in their country. The goal of Govpinion is to promote ia culture of transparency and democracy in their society.

 How does Govpinion work?

All citizens need to visit public institutions one day or another for a public service. At the end of the visit, two possibilities are open to him: either the service is satisfactory or there is room for improvement at this establishment. In both cases, the citizen has the opportunity to  have his voice heard through Govpinion which provides him with a catalog of more than 3,000 institutions and more than 1,000 public officials. He may leave comments and evaluate the public institution he visited or one of the public individuals he interacted with , he has the opportunity share  details about experiences and suggest improvements that would be likely to improve the satisfaction of citizens who might obtain the same service in the future.

In addition to  providing users with the ability to share their experiences online , Govpinion provides details about the geolocation of each  public institution on a map as well as its contact information.

These are some of the features of the new site:

• A modern website with a simple and intuitive interface for  free navigation  without advertising and without clutter.

• A richer interface and a comprehensive catalog with 3000 public institutions at the service of citizens and new ones being added ina week including: courts, consulates, municipalities, urban agencies, hospitals ...

Govpinion wants to encourage transparency and accountability at all levels of the public administration and  the
government as well as promoting  democracy and fight corruption. Govpinion continues to grow its presence in Morocco and aims to establish a complete  catalogue of all public institutions and public officials in the service of Moroccan citizens throughought the different regions of Morocco and abroad.

The site aims to promote a culture of democracy and freedom of expression but also aims to empower public institutions and public officials and push for transparency to provide better services to citizens.

The long-term Govpinion vision is to reproduce this model beyond Morocco through the rest of North Africa and the Middle East in the first phase and throughout the rest of world after that.

When the beta version of  Govpinion was  launched in Morocco, there had been many articles published about it (Goud, Attajdid, Alkhabar, Hakaikpress, AndalusPress, Paparazzi.ma, eMarrakech info…) and it says online that had received a lot of feedback from users which was quite exciting.

Govpinion says in a post that anyone can browse the site but that  in order to provide a review about a public official or an institution one must use a Facebook account. This helps alleviate the issue with people creating fake accounts and posting fake reviews.

Note that even though you are required to use your Facebook account, Govpinion understands that you might not be comfortable using your real name when sharing a review on a public site. This is the reason why Govpinion allows you to choose a nickname during the registration process on the site. Govpinion hopes that this added privacy measure will make you comfortable sharing your truthful experience and feedback with a full sense of security and privacy.
