Francois Hollande: Al-Qaeda linked group behind Nigeria kidnap
President Hollande told Europe 1 radio in France that the kidnappers of the French engineer were "probably linked to AQIM [Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb] or the groups which are today in Mali".

Two Nigerians were killed when the French engineer, named as Frances Colump was grabbed in Katsina state on Thursday.About 30 gunmen stormed a residence, where expatriate workers were staying, in the village of Rimi on Thursday evening.They killed a security guard and a neighbour and kidnapped Frances Colump, who works for French alternative energy company Vergnet which has a wind-power project in Katsina.
Boko Haram which is linked to Al Qaeda is thought not to be involved in this case according to a report by RFI.Rimi is close to the border with Niger where AQIM is known to operate.
