First Hyatt Place hotel to open in Morocco by 2014

Development has begun on the Morocco based Hyatt Place Taghazout hotel, the first Hyatt Place development in the country, with work due to be completed by late 2014.

The 150-room Hyatt Place Taghazout, located adjacent to the city of Agadir on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, will form part of master planned development, Taghazout Bay. The master planned development’s completion is expected over a period of 15 years, the hotel’s development is supported by the Moroccan government’s tourism strategy, Vision 2020, which sets sustainable development at the heart of its prioritiesaccording to the Hyatt Investor relations website.

The finished hotel will be comprised of a Moroccan spa, retail center, an 18-hole golf course and a surf camp.

Taghazout Bay is 15 kilometers north of Agadir. It is destined to become the premier  resort of Morocco, 300 km from Marrakech and 170 kilometers from the city of Essaouira.

The resort is being financed by CDG, Alliances Développement Group, the U.S. investment fund Colony Capital, and others.
