The two ministers held a meeting during which they agreed to continue the preparations for the Moroccan-Egyptian High Joint Commission. During this meeting, which was attended by Ambassador of Morocco to Egypt, Mohamed Saad Alami, both officials discussed the situation in the region, including the escalation of violence in the Palestinian territories and Al Quds.

They said the escalation is due to the halted negotiations, the acceleration of the settlement activities in the Palestinian territories, and the Israeli acts of provocation which does not leave room for negotiations, go against the spirit of the peace process, and constitute a serious violation by Israel of its international obligations. The two ministers discussed the situation in the Arab world, including the latest developments in Iraq, Syria, and Libya.
