FM holds talks with South Korean official on common interest issues between the two countries

Rabat - Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani held talks, Monday in Rabat, with Jayson Park, special envoy of the South Korean Foreign Minister on issues of common interest, and ways to strengthen relations between Morocco and South Korea.

"We discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and we have agreed to bring our excellent bilateral relations to the next level," said Mr. El Otmani during a press briefing at the end of this meeting.

The Minister welcomed in this regard, the "convergence of views" and the "continuous contacts" between the two countries, as well as the quality of bilateral cooperation, and the technical support provided by Korea in the field of development.

The two officials also touched on the South Korean investments in the Kingdom and means to further promote them by supporting the establishment of new South Korean companies in Morocco.

Mr. Park, who had served between 2004 and 2006 as Ambassador of his country to Morocco, also hailed "long-standing friendship" ties between the two countries, noting, in this regard, the celebration, last year, of the fiftieth anniversary of bilateral relations.

These ties, he added, highlight "the need to further develop the potentials of the two countries in the field of trade policy but also at the economic, scientific and technological levels.
