Rabat - Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, expressed, Friday in Rabat, his thanks to Antigua and Barbuda for its "clear and Consistent" positions supporting the Moroccan Sahara.

"I thank Antigua and Barbuda for its clear and consistent positions" supporting Morocco's rights within the framework of international legality and the Moroccanness of the Sahara, Bourita said at a press briefing with Antiguan minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Trade, E. Paul Chet Greene, who is on a working visit to Morocco.

The last decade has been one of change after a dozen countries, including Antigua and Barbuda, withdrew their recognition of the pseudo "sadr", the minister recalled, noting that the next decade will be one of adopting a Caribbean regional approach.

It is necessary to reinforce this achievement and translate this friendship into concrete projects that will have an impact in the medium term, the minister insisted, believing that Antigua and Barbuda will play a fundamental role in this approach.

In this regard, Bourita said that the two countries have agreed to work together on this regional partnership approach between Morocco and the Caribbean in all economic, trade, training and security areas.

The Moroccan official also noted that the joint communiqué signed with his Antiguan counterpart at the end of their talks reiterates the willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

In addition, an agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the government of Antigua and Barbuda in the form of a "Roadmap of cooperation 2020-2022" was signed by the two ministers on the occasion of this visit.

The roadmap covers bilateral cooperation in the sectors of training, agriculture and tourism, Bourita underlined.
