FM : Russia, an important partner of Morocco politically, economically and culturally
Moscow - Russia is an important partner of Morocco at the political, economic and cultural levels, foreign minister Saad Dine El Otmani said, hailing the fact that the parties shared the same viewpoints on many political issues.

El Otmani told on Saturday "Russia Today" channel, on the sidelines of his working visit to Moscow, that Russia is one of Morocco's main partners in the economic field, with trade exchanges worth 2.5billion dollars yearly, thus making the Kingdom Russia's top African and Arab trade partner.
The minister recalled the meetings held between Moroccan businessmen and their Russian counterparts, in addition to the development of cooperation between the two countries in new areas, including energy, agriculture, gas and renewable energy.
Regarding the impact of the European economic crisis on Morocco, El Otmani said that the Kingdom has been affected in a "relative" way because Europe is the first partner of the Kingdom in terms of exports, imports and investments in the Kingdom, and has a large Moroccan community of 3.5 million people.
The Minister said that the policy of diversification of economic partners has enabled Morocco to avoid the impact of the crisis, noting that the Moroccan economy has recorded a growth rate of 3.2 pc last year and can reach more than 4 pc next year.
