FAR Unable to Authenticate Information on Lost F16 & Pilot in Yemen as Crash Occured in Enemy Territory
Rabat - The authentication of the information flow on the F16 fighter jet that went missing in Yemen and the confirmation of the death of the pilot were made difficult due to the crash of the plane in enemy territory, the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) said in a statement.
"Following the statement issued on May 10, 2015 on the loss in Yemen of an F16 of the Royal Armed Forces, numerous images were spread on websites and social networks purporting pieces claiming to be components of the fuselage or the body of the pilot," the statement said.
Yet, the statement notes, "the authentication of this flow of information and the confirmation of the death of the pilot were made difficult by the fact that the site of the crash lies in enemy territory."
