Dakar - The emergence of Morocco as an economic power will directly impact West Africa and guarantee this region's development, said on Tuesday Senegal's minister of culture and legacy, Abdoul Aziz Mbaye.

The Senegalese official, who was meeting CEO of Moroccan air carrier "RAM", Driss Benhima, following the signing of a partnership agreement between RAM and Dakar's "Dak'art" cultural event, stressed that Morocco and Sahara share an umbilical bond, which is the Sahara area, and enjoy a geographic and cultural proximity which has for long contributed to develop strong, deep and exemplary relationships.
On his part RAM CEO noted that the company is, for the first time, participating in a cultural event outside Morocco, because there is a strong belief that culture is no longer a luxury but a tool and a necessary weapon for development.
He added that RAM will enhance during 2014 its African vision, as the second African company in terms of turnover and the third in terms of the number of passengers.
