El Otmani, Ibrahimi discuss Syrian issue in New York
New York (United Nations) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Saad Eddine El Otmani and the Joint Special Representative of the UN and the Arab League for Syria, Lakhdar Brahim, on Monday in New York, had an exchange of views on means to end the crisis in Syria.

"We reviewed the situation prevailing in Syria and assessed the situation, after the adoption, last Friday by the Security Council of the UN, of a resolution on the dismantling of the Syrian chemical arsenal," Mr. Otmani told the press following this meeting on the sidelines of the general debate of the 68th UN General Assembly.
Mr. Otmani also discussed with his interlocutor the preparations ahead of the Geneva peace conference II, scheduled for mid-November.
The minister recalled in this regard that Morocco has always insisted on a political solution as well as the humanitarian aspect. "We must not forget the humanitarian aspect while seeking a political solution," he said.
For his part, Mr. Ibrahimi said that discussions focused on Syria and the "opportunities" to hold the conference of Geneva II.
