Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil on a visit Monday to Algeria

Egyptian Premier Hisham Qandil will pay a visit to Algeria leading an important delegation, from 22 to 24 October at the invitation of Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, according to a communiqué from the Prime Minister's office on Sunday.

"During this visit, the bilateral cooperation will be assessed and the means will be considered to reinforce and enlarge to further fields in line with the willingness of both countries leaders," the same source added, APS reported.

The visit will allow "exchange of views, consultation and coordination about topics concerning the Arab nation and the different regional and international questions," the communiqué said.Qandil will lead an important delegation of the Egyptian government composed of Foreign minister Mohamed Kamel Amr, Information Minister Salah Abdelmakssoud, Communication Minister Hani Mahmoud, Petroleum Minister Oussama Kamel, minister of planning and international cooperation Ashraf Al-Arabi in addition to a number of businessmen and company managers.

 Algeria and Egypt are seeking to expand their relations after a period of difficult relations. Egypt is seeking export markets and Algeria is seeking to expand its foreign trade. At a time of heightened tension and a difficult internal situation in Libya, Algeria is seeking allies in the region. Egypt is also looking to increase its influenceand carve out a new role in foreign policy under President Morsi.
